What comes to mind when you hear the word “nurturing”? Does your body say, “Yes, please! I’d like some more of that!”? I don’t know about you, but life can get so busy that I don’t take the time to nurture myself as often as my body is asking for. This week, I am setting an intention to become more nurturing.
Some people have a real gift in this. They practically ooze it. I can think of a couple people in my tribe like that. You probably can too. I enjoy being around them. I want to soak it all up! I am nurturing too, however, I am much more nurturing with others than I am myself. Nature and spending time with my trees is nurturing for me. Just being still is nurturing for me. Intentional loving self-talk is nurturing for me.
What about receiving nurturing from someone else? Are you open to receiving that or do you feel that you would rather give it than receive it? What if we were totally open to receiving it from others and from Mother Earth? Would we then have more to give away? Is there a feeling of vulnerability in there? Is being vulnerable a bad thing? No, but it’s actually a sign of strength. One of my very wise friends reminded me I can’t give from an empty cup. So what fills your cup? What is one thing you can do this week that would nurture you physically, emotionally, and spiritually? What if when someone offers us something that would help fill our cups, we just say, “Thank you! That would be wonderful!” Just a little food for thought. Love you!Share
